Stand up paddle boarding definitely requires balance. You must learn to stand and paddle while on the water. The best time to learn is when the water is calm. We started with sitting down and then went to a kneeling position. From there, we started to learn how to stand up and keep our balance on the board. Paddle boarding will increase you leg strength and core strength.
Exercises your whole body
You work your whole body out when you paddle board. You use your core, leg, back, arms and much more. The harder the current, surf and wind, the harder you work out. We definitely feel the workout more when we go against the current. You can feel the burn everywhere. Your body feels so good afterwards.
Low impact workout
For those with health issues, such as back, knee, hip etc, stand up paddle boarding is perfect for you. You choose you far and how long you want to be out. You control how hard you paddle and how far you push yourself.
Reduces your stress level
With the stress of life, there should be something that you love to do that you can let all that stress go. For us, it is paddle boarding. Just being on the water, breathing fresh air makes you feel better. Being on the water, you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Hearing nature all around you, the water rippling, the leaves rustling, sea life playing in the water makes you feel happy and free. Along with all those great benefits, the workout itself is stress relieving.

The harder you paddle board, your heart rate increases and your oxygen flow improves in your body. The more you breathe, the deeper they get. The more oxygen you get in your lungs, the stronger your cardiovascular system gets.
